Husch Blackwell welcomes two attorneys to its Denver office: Senior Counsel Julie A. Sullivan and Associate Lawson S. Parker II. Sullivan and Parker both join the firm’s Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education industry team.

Sullivan has served as both in-house and external counsel to members of the healthcare industry. She counsels clients on a variety of regulatory and compliance issues, and transactional matters, and has also assisted clients with mergers and acquisitions. Parker assists hospitals, physicians, single and multi-specialty group practices, dentists and other healthcare professionals with respect to their operational, transactional and regulatory compliance matters. He also advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, the sale of healthcare-related entities and employment matters.

Sullivan previously practiced in the Denver office of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck (2014-2015). Prior to that, she served as Assistant General Counsel for Denver-based DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc., one of the largest kidney care companies in the United States (2011-2014). Before going in-house, Sullivan practiced in Chicago as an associate at McDermott Will & Emery LLP (2010-2011) and McGuireWoods LLP (2008-2010). Following law school, Sullivan served as a law clerk to the Hon. William J. Bauer of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit (2007-2008). Sullivan received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois (2007) and her J.D., with high honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law (2006), where she graduated Order of the Coif and served as a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. She received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2002).

Parker previously practiced in Syracuse, N.Y., with Cohen Compagni Beckman Appler & Knoll PLLC (2013-2015), Hancock Estabrook LLP (2013) and Scolaro, Shulman, Cohen, Fetter & Burstein P.C. (2010-2013). He received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in New York (2010), and his B.A., in Government, from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. (2007).
